I’m a mixed media artist from Melbourne, Australia, who rediscovered her passion for all things creative only a couple of years ago.
For the last twenty five years, I have been working as a teacher and more recently as a Deputy Principal in a beautiful primary school. Education has always been a very important part of my life. I just love encouraging curiosity and the pursuit of what makes us feel alive. I’m living proof that it’s never too late to learn something new, that art and being creative is something we can learn, like any other skill.
I come from a long line of gardeners. I receive regular photos from my mum every time a new flower blooms in her garden and my dad has always grown the most delicious veggies. Both of my sisters are skilled gardeners and could just about name any plant, in any garden. I, on the other hand, would not call myself a great gardener. I have a wonderful appreciation for the beauty of flowers and gardens, but I’m afraid that neither of my thumbs are very green! I have always adored flowers. The colours, the patterns, the impact they make on mass. So I guess I do my gardening with a paint brush. I love that flowers can have such a positive and emotional effect on us. That we all seem to have a favourite flower (mine is the hydrangea by the way!) I love that flowers and gardens can remind us of our favourite people and our favourite adventures.
My hope is that my gardens bring you joy. That you see a flower or colour or shape that reminds you of someone you love, or of a special place or time in your life.
