Join Melbourne mixed media artist Leanne Daquino for a creative two-day journey into floral-inspired art at the historic Abbotsford Convent. Nestled along the Yarra River, this cultural hub is a haven for artists and creatives, boasting stunning gardens, heritage-listed buildings, and a serene atmosphere perfect for unlocking your creativity.
Over two relaxing days, you’ll explore the art of Gelli plate printing, color theory, and collage in a supportive environment. Leanne’s approach ensures you’ll gain confidence in combining bold textures, vibrant colors, and thoughtful compositions to create your own floral masterpiece. Whether you’re a beginner eager to explore mixed media or an experienced artist looking to try new techniques, this workshop is designed to inspire and challenge you.

Each session runs from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm, with a break to enjoy morning tea (provided). We’ll take a lovely relaxed lunch break during the workshop, giving you time to explore the beautiful surroundings of the Abbotsford Convent. Choose from a variety of charming cafes and a bakery for your meal, or bring your own to enjoy in one of the serene outdoor spaces. While you’re there, take the opportunity to browse the unique artisan shops and discover beautiful handcrafted gifts. It’s the perfect chance to relax, recharge, and soak in all that the Convent has to offer before we dive back into our creative session. Â
On the final afternoon, we’ll gather for a relaxed and celebratory session to admire the wonderful artworks created during the workshop. This is a chance to reflect on your experience, share your creative journey if you’d like, and ask any questions. I’ll be available to answer your art or art business-related questions, offering insights and advice to inspire your next steps. It’s a warm and supportive way to wrap up our time together, celebrating your creativity and accomplishments.
